the activist working space in eve street

SEAN/ASEN has an office in Erskineville! It’s at 19 Eve St, a short and downhill stroll from either Erskineville station or King St, Newtown.

Here’s a MAP!

Having had some recent clean-ups, it is still full of crap, but ripe for the using! There are couches and desks, a phone and lots of internet access for laptops, and a computer. Not to mention the many years’ worth of beautiful and clever resources produced by a long line of wicked activists. It’s an office in a warehouse that the greens use, so in the downstairs communal space there are kettles and cups and toilets and a big space with table, chairs, couches and big whiteboard and everything one would need. If we want to use that downstairs area it needs to be booked.

We want to use this space more this year and make it a place where activists from wherever can go, get together and work. Somewhere that isn’t a dungeon in a university building.

To get into the place, you need a key which a few people in ASEN have. People who have keys and are planning on being in the space anyway…

We haven’t worked out for 2010 when we’ll be there regularly, stay tuned!

If you would like to come and use the space, let us know or you can even call ahead to see if anyone is in there, the number at 19 Eve St is 8004 2238. And if you’re gonna wanna use it regularly we can arrange a key :)
