it’s that time of year when we venture south for the wonders of SoS - we’re organising transport and trying to get some uni subsidies to cover the cost so register online (www.studentsofsustainability.org) If you’re at Griffith make sure Ko has your details (ko.oishi[at]student.griffith.edu.au) and if you’re at UQ shoot them to Shani (shanitager[at]gmail.com). if you’re not at uni get in touch too - we’ll see what we can work out to help cover costs.

$10/$15 unwaged

Please invite as many friends as you like (the more the merrier). Tickets are available for sale from the Green Grocer in West End, Rocking Horse Records in the city or at the door.
It would be fantastic to have your support for this event. ASEN does wonderful things for the community by supporting activists across Australia involved in the environment movement.
You can expect some lovely food, delightful entertainment, wonderful art displays and plenty of cocktails!

SoS09 is going to be held on Wurundjeri Land at Monash University’s Clayton Campus from July 6-10. The theme this year is “Doing It For Ourselves” and we’re looking forward to a jam-packed week as participants come from all around Australia and the world to share knowledge, experience and skills in the struggle for justice.

In early March this year, I paid a visit to our dear environment collective friends in the humid, and recently drenched, North Queensland. I headed to Townsville and Cairns in the aftermath of both the Victorian bushfires and North Queensland floods, to find a handful of passionate change-agents. It really is all one needs to feel hopeful.

More than 30 Queensland citizens concerned about a sustainable future for Queensland are bringing the farm to the city this morning. They have built a veggie garden on the lawns of Parliament House to urge the major political parties to protect good quality agricultural land from mining.
