SASEN Skill Share Nov 26-28

Hey there sunshine, How would you like to spend a weekend away sharing skills with other like minded peeps?!Adelaide Skill Share is being held on the 26th to 28th of November (yes after exams ) and is about having a variety of social justice issues aimed workshops for anyone who is interested in sharing or learning new skills. The camp is being held at Willow Creek Farm Camp, near Second Valley, towards Victor Harbor way and has both bunk and tent options. Accommodation, food and the workshops over the weekend are included in $40 for unwaged individuals or $55 for waged individuals. Deadline for Germinate submissions is November 30

Hello there far away and still fabulous friends, This is a little Germinate update and call out. We, the Germs, editors of your favourite enviro justice zine Germinate are happy to say the we are back on track, we have two new members in our collective, thanks Dom and Juliet! So you should be looking forward to a fresh and exciting editorial perspective in the Summer edition of 2011. However we currently have received a total of 0 submissions :'( The deadline for articles is November 30. If you reckon this deadline is too soon, at least get in touch with intentions before that day and we can work it out. Over the next month we will be doing more specific call outs for articles on topics that we want to see discussed but for now, feel free to let us know about any articles, topics, art or poetry you might like to throw in Germinate. 'Sustainable community living and peaceful direct action targeting Australia's largest source of domestic emissions - Bayswater Power Station'' Dec 1st - 5th 2010, Lake Liddell Recreation Area, The Hunter Valley, NSW The climate science is in, now its time to act. Climate change is the biggest threat to our future, and coal is the biggest cause of climate change, yet right now across the country there are plans for 12 new coal or gas fired power stations. If built this 'dirty dozen' will increase Australia's total emissions by 7% and NSW's emissions by up to 15%. At a time when we must rapidly reduce emissions to avoid dangerous climate change, this is simply unacceptable. Bayswater power station in the Hunter Valley, NSW, is already the equal largest source of emissions in Australia and is the site of one of the planned power stations.
